Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation's (ONGC) sea survival centre in Goa, marking a significant advancement in India's sea survival training infrastructure. The state-of-the-art Integrated Sea Survival Training Centre aims to elevate the nation's capabilities to global standards and is projected to annually train 10,000-15,000 personnel. Equipped with simulated harsh weather conditions, the facility intends to enhance trainees' preparedness for real-life maritime emergencies.
In addition to inaugurating ONGC's sea survival centre, PM Modi's visit to Goa encompasses a series of key initiatives focused on bolstering India's energy sector and overall developmental efforts. During the India Energy Week 2024, scheduled from February 6-9, PM Modi will engage with global oil and gas CEOs and experts, aiming to foster collaborations and innovation conducive to India's energy goals. The event, expected to attract 35,000 attendees and over 900 exhibitors, emphasizes the government's commitment to encouraging startups and companies contributing to India's energy transition.
Furthermore, PM Modi will participate in the Viksit Bharat, Viksit Goa 2047 programme, inaugurating the permanent campus of the National Institute of Technology Goa and dedicating the new campus of the National Institute of Watersports. Additionally, he will lay the foundation stone for various infrastructure projects, including a passenger ropeway and a water treatment plant, reflecting the government's holistic approach to development and sustainability.
